Peer Advisors: Coming and Going

For incoming first year students, one of the first connections they will make, besides other first years or their Resident Assistant, is their Peer Advisor (PA). The PA watches over the first years during the August Experience, leading them to and from different events, trying to get them to communicate and reach out to make friends and being a mentor to the students.

This week, student senate is having elections for executive members and At-Large members. At the last meeting, applicants for all the positions up for re-election presented platforms to senate members and members of the campus community.

Bryan Ruder - He is a freshman member of the soccer team and is in the process of becoming a new member of Sigma Chi

Jason Crawford - He is a member of Lambda, CBP, and the baseball team.

German Club Looks To Continue To Grow

German Club provides an opportunity for Hanover students to explore their "appreciation for Germany's history, culture and language," said club secretary Stacy Buschhaus, a sophomore. With this notion in mind, the club has used the 2009-2010 school year as a chance to reinvigorate membership and the club's event program.

Both the Men's & Women's teams fall short in HCAC tourney

The basketball season at Hanover College came to end for both teams. After stellar finishes during the regular season, with the men finishing second and the women third in the conference, both teams came up short in the HCAC tournament. The men lost to eventually HCAC champs, Defiance and the women lost to Franklin in the championship game.

Though the weather is cooling down, the Ohio River in its polluted splendor calls to those adventuresome and independent enough to brave her depths. Coming out of Greenwood Indiana, which is devoid of any body of water, I was thrilled to take advantage of the campus's convenient location on the river.

Ask anyone what defines Hanover and you would probably get one answer. Sure, some people might say Greek Life or athletics, but the most common answer would be academics. As an institution that prides itself on providing young adults with an excellent and useful education, it makes sense that school work and learning would be the defining factor of our school.

A Fracture in my Normal Life

Well hello! This week, I will be taking over the blog spot online, in place of Abby. Mostly, a rant is in order. About two weeks ago, I fractured my finger. My ring finger. I just blew it off at first, because it seemed like it was just a jam. It became really warped, looking like I was just double-jointed.
