At 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, Hanover faculty, staff and students gathered in the basement of Wiley Hall to discuss recent hateful acts that occurred on Wiley Third North. Sometime during the evening of Saturday, Feb. 16, one or more people wrote derogatory comments directed towards homosexuality and women on a bulletin board.
On Saturday, March 15th the International Club will hold the 32nd annual International Banquet.
During this past week, Hanover students and faculty were privileged to meet two women from the K'astajib'al Bilingual Intercultural School in Guatemala. Elizabeth Idalia Ollej, director of the school, and Rosa Cándida Cúmez, a teacher there, toured and visited Hanover classes all week.
Winter Break is over which means back to the Student Senate meetings. First up Report of Committees. In Perspectives the idea of putting a recycling bin in the library for paper is a go. The issue of flooding in Donner was discussed. There seems to be no short-term solution for the flooding.
